Today is all about appreciation for my sweet, sweet friends and our stories.
When I was in high school, I had a very tight knit group of friends, and like all high schoolers we thought we'd be together forever, but that's not what happened. Some of us became school and grade obsessed, while others wanted to live out their wild teenage nights. This and the different schools definitely caused some division in the group. Nothing nasty, just time apart. Which was weird because the plan was to be together forever. The more time past, the more we all changed and wanted different things.

The interesting thing is that I really only keep in touch with one of the high school girls,  after some small drama and time apart we reconnected and are now so beautifully close. I know that she will always be the most trustworthy and honest person around me, which is so great because we all need that person to keep us grounded. Juls is the hardest working, most dedicated human being I've ever met and I'm so thankful that we reconnected and are stronger than ever!

Then there are the moments you don't expect, where my mom started a new job, met someone who she became very close with and decided to have work people and their kids over for dinner. I say "kids" but we were all 16-17, thinking that this was going to be the most awkward set-up ever. But somehow here we are five years later, going on vacations and road trips together, texting for advice constantly and going through life together. Sabby and I live life so similarly, and our shopping trips are ALWAYS iconic.

Next up, my ladybug Dee, we met while on vacation in Florida. Although we live about 6 hours apart, somehow, I see her more often than some of the friends that live in my own city! Weekend getaways to each other every second month or so, exploring and best of all, our Facetime dates where we laugh, cry, and talk about everything and anything.

They are my extra sisters, but no one can compare to my twin, my other half, my everything. My sister is the light of my life, we grew up doing everything together. She beat up the bullies for me, showed me how to be strong, stays with me when I cry, and is the best human in the world. I'm not even sure she counts as a friendship, more of a soulmate.

I had some tough times in high school, as most of us probably did, where the wrong people were trusted, hurt me, and weren't worthy of real friendship, but it all lead to the real, beautiful friends that I am so blessed with now.
